1. Make Reline |
In the beaker at over 80°C heat, stir Chlorine Chloride and Urea together until a homogeneous and colorless liquid is formed
2. Use Coulometric Titrator to Check Water Concentration
3. Mix Water and Reline
4. Mix HAuCl4 Into Water Reline Solution
use 6.7mg of the gold salt and mix it into 5mL of the solution
5. Mix NaBH4 Into Water Reline Solution
6. Mix NaBH4 and HAuCl4
Slowly drip the NaBH4 and reline/water solution into the reline/water solution with the HAuCl4 in it and stir
7. Prepare and test UV-Vis
8. Prepare and Test with Atomic Force Microscopy
- Centrifuge 3 centrifuge tubes with 1mL of solution in it
- Pipette reline out
- Rinse with ethanol twice (put ethanol in, vortex and sonicate, centrifuge, remove ethanol)
- Put .3mL of ethanol in each tube and mix the solutions in all tubes
- Hole punch two micah pieces for each solution
- Clean one with tape
- Put one drop of each solution on each micah piece
- Test with Atomic Force Microscopy
9. Repeat
Repeat Process for each water reline mixture
